in the event of a disaster, i want to be prepared. most everything we have in our survival stash needs to be cooked. this would be a great option to have. thank you for reviewing it...looks easy to use...i love that it is small and easy to transport.

This was an excellent review. Everyone in the preparedness world thinks about either bugging in or bugging out (and the smarter ones think and prepare for both), but precious little thought is given to the topic of how can you reliably cook a hot meal. In a bleak and stressful time, something simple like a hot meal can do to raise one's (or the group's) spirits. The Stove in a Can is definitely reliable, and the fact that it is relatively small and light make it ideal for adding to a BOB or just plain old preparedness stores at home. As for more "normal" times, it is a great tool to teach kids (and pampered adults) that there are ways to cook besides the stove, the oven or the microwave. This is also cheap enough to have 2 or 3 (remember, 1 is none, 2 is 1 and 3 is 2). Thanks for the review, I'll probably get at least one.

Saw the product. Really appears to be very useful in situations where no other fuel is available.
